26 Random Things!

Since I actually took the time to do this on Facebook, I figured I would share on the blog as well...

1. I HATE snakes & spiders!! Went to the theater to see Aracnophobia and didn't sleep at all that night.

2. I could sit on the beach all day with a good book and a cold beverage and never move!

3. I could also snow ski every day and never get tired of it. Maybe b/c it's the one sport i'm actually good at!

4. Pizza is my favorite food and one of the few foods I actually have to tell myself to stop eating.

5. I will probably have to make up a more appropriate story about how I met Philip when my kids ask. (don't get carried away, it's not that bad!)

6. Unfortunately, I don't really care at all about politics!

7. BUT I can kick your butt at celebrity trivia:)

8. I really don't LOVE running like some people do, it's for preventative purposes only.

9. My feet are really skinny and my toes are really long.

10. My dog is spoiled rotten.

11. I wouldn't work if we could afford it.

12. I didn't love my job in Birmingham but loved my co-workers. Maybe that's why I stayed there for 6 years!!

13. Some days, I would move back to Birmingham in a heartbeat. Preferrably back in to our house on Gillon Drive.

14. The smell of Vodka makes me want to vomit!

15. My hubbie is my best friend and I love that it's just the 2 of us right now!

16. Although I don't love running (see #8), I am upset that I won't be running with Philip in the Seaside Half Marathon.

17. When I do motivate myself to run, I always feel so good afterwards!

18. I love that Philip loves to cook. We cook together almost every night!

19. In our family, I do the laundry & Philip does the dishes. It's a great arrangement.

20. When I drive by our house in Homewood, I can't linger too long or I know I will start to cry!

21. Cleaning is something that I really hate doing but love it when my house is clean. Maybe I need a maid???

22. We spend waaaay too much money at the coffee shop. But hey, we live right above it so you can't argue with convenience!

23. One day, I hope to run a marathon just so I can say I have done it.

24. Sometimes, I can be VERY lazy!

25. I love wine. White or red. Maybe too much sometimes:)

26. I would not trade a better college GPA for the fun I had with the most fun people ever!!!!!!!

Our kiddos!

Me & Phil with our "kiddos" Vivian & Luke!

We get asked quite often by friends, family and well, sometimes people we barely know, when we are having kids. My honest answer is: I have no idea, but probably not for a few more years. So in the mean time...here you go:)

One Mile!

I actually RAN ONE MILE on the treadmill last night!!! It wasn't all at once, I did it in 5 minute intervals. But still, I did it!!!

PS- I promise I will not update every time I run 5 minutes more than the last time, just thought a mile was worth mentioning:)

You are dismissed!!!

I am officially done with physical therapy!! Wahoo! My PT "formally released" me this morning. I will probably still go back a few days a week so I can get on the treadmill and keep improving my endurance but not at 7am!! As you can tell, I'm pretty excited about it:)

Gotta Love a Day Off!

Me, Jamie (35 weeks prego) and Kinsey

We had such a great weekend! AND, I get an extra day today. How nice!! At my job in Birmingham, we never got MLK day off so I am pretty excited about having an extra day to relax. I'm already off to a good start as I slept until 8:30 this morning and am now at the coffee shop trying to decide between a cinnamon roll or a parfait!

Friday night we went to Montgomery with everyone to celebrate Mary P's birthday at the Montgomery Brew Pub. Then we went to Off the Wagon to see James' band, Trust Company, play. They were so good! I can't wait to see them again! A big thanks to Dennis for driving us. It's a good thing he did b/c Philip was sound asleep about 10 minutes in to our drive home:)

Saturday I met up with Jamie & Kinsey. Kinsey was in town for the Auburn Half Marathon and she did great!!!! She was the 4th female to finish and first in her age group. I'm so proud:) We did a little shopping for some Auburn gear for Hank & Azalea then ate lunch at Amsterdam...Yumm!!!

Saturday afternoon, we headed to Greenville to spend the night with my parents and had a birthday dinner for mom. We hadn't been there in forever! Philip was also able to give them some lessons on using their iMac:)

Last night was dinner at Fukai Manor. It was delish, as usual!!!

I hope everyone has a great week!

It's a goner!

R.I.P.
October 08-January 09
Yep folks, the ole brace is officially a goner! I can honestly say that I am NOT sad to see it go:)

I did it!!!

I ran for 2 whole minutes (yes, minutes) this morning at therapy!!! I'm very excited about it. I haven't run a step since October 21st so it felt a little unnatural. But I was very glad I didn't fall off the back of the treadmill or something. So it's baby steps from here. Maybe Friday I will be able to run for 3 minutes!!!

Budget...what is that?

Apparently we do not know the meaning of the word "budget." So today I signed us up on mint.com! I'm a little embarrased that, at 28, I still have a hard time managing money. I think I am just going to lock us in our house forever, only letting us out during work hours.

I think I need a re-do for this whole day!! Or a "cotton"tale:)

What??? You want me to work 5 days this week!!

Beth showing off her mad Wii skillzzz
I think we were bowling at this point....
To end our holiday season, we had a very relaxing weekend! Friday night we went up to the lake and stayed with Beth & Tyler. It was so nice to get out of town for a night, especially since it was only a 25 min drive!! We grilled steaks, watched the Bama game and played A LOT of Wii!!! Saturday morning, the boys got up and played golf. Beth & I stayed at the house and both slept until almost 11. It was fantastic! When the boys got done with golf, we all headed back to Auburn for the basketball game then dinner at Amsterdam. We always have the best time with them. Thanks for having us Beth & Tyler!!!! Can't wait for Steeplechase!

Today has been a very nice Sunday. We made it to early church, Philip got his long run done for the week and I found some new bedding (shams, bedskirt & comforter) for our room for $5o! I'm so proud of myself!

Hope everyone enjoys a full, 5 day work week!!!

Hmm...

We like to brag that Charlie is a really smart dog, but sometimes I wonder. Today, he walked around the house with his "tennis frisbee" over his eyes like this. At first we thought it was stuck or something but no...

2009!!!

We had a great New Years Eve! Bob & JoAnne came down and we went to dinner at Cafe 123. Then we headed around the corner to Eighth & Rail to ring in the New Year!!

Today is football (specifically UGA- Go Dawgs!), black eyed peas, turnip greens & some pork tenderloin!
