Long time, no blog....

Not sure why I haven't posted in a while, I guess we've been busier than I thought. To sum it up- 2 weekends ago we went to Marietta, GA with the Fukai's. Who knew Marietta had such a cute downtown??? I surely didn't! Anyways, we shopped around The Square, ate at a great Columbian restaurant and went to McCrackens for some early St. Patricks Day fun.

Last weekend, Philip's dad & brother came in town for some "boy time." They went to West Point to ride the moutain bike trail there and spent some good QT together:) I, on the other hand, got to spend Saturday & Sunday doing whatever I wanted. Which, honsetly, wasn't much of anything!!! Saturday night our neighbors had the first Southside cook out of the year. Fun, as usual!

Tuesday night, we went to The Bar to see the Parker Quartet. They played on campus Wednesday night so they had a little preview show Tuesday. They were great! We got our little dose of culture for the week.

This weekend we are heading down to the beach with some friends. It's supposed to be raining but we'll make the best of it:)

Happy Thursday y'all!

Sunshine!

We have had the best weather the past week here in Auburn. This weekend it was sunny skies & "fantastic" (or at least that's what the weather man in Montgomery said!). We spent most of our weekend outside because it was too nice to sit inside! Saturday Philip went mountain biking in Columbus with Hiro & Richard. Then we met up with the Bradford's at Momma G's before we all headed to the Auburn/Brown baseball game. It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy the sun! After dinner, Beth & Tyler headed back to the lake and we headed over to The Bar to see Will Kimbrough. I had never heard of him but it was a really good show!

Sunday was another great day spent mostly outside. Philip was biking all day and I helped Lyndsay pick a color to paint their guest bathroom. Then I borrowed her bike and rode around downtown for a little while before we went for a run. I'm tellin' ya, I was just looking for any excuse to be outside!

Sunday night we had Sunday Funday at our house and everyone was so glad to have an extra hour of daylight and sit on our porch!

It's been a little rough getting used to the time change in the mornings but the extra daylight after work is worth it!

Seaside Fun

Philip's post-race treat--an enormous mimosa from Modica Market.
Coctail Time!

We got back from a few days in Seaside yesterday and it was amazing! I actually LOVE the beach in the winter months so I was really excited about our little mini vaca. We left Opelika Friday just in time to drive through tornado sirens in Montgomery! By the time we got down there, we were both a little on edge & ready for some relaxing. We spent the weekend riding our bikes up & down 30A, walking on the beach, eating a LOT and enjoying some good wine:) We only got in our car one time while we were there and that was only because it was about to rain.

The real reason for our trip down there was the Seaside Half Marathon on Sunday. While it was not snowing, it was really cold and very windy!! We were definitely not prepared. I had to wear socks on my hands b/c I had no gloves. It was a fun race though, and Philip did great- 1:41!! Two minutes faster than Mercedes and battling a 30mph wind the whole first half of the race. I caught up with him around mile 10 (on my bike, of course) and rode the final 3 miles with him. He says it helped keep him going but I don't see how it wasn't annoying as hell.

We had a great time! Neither of us were very excited about going to work today- boo hoo!
