Georgia Mountains

Cocktail Time!
Saturday night dinner

The Boyz
View from our deck!

We spent this past weekend in the North Georgia Mountians. It was so amazing! The same group that went to the beach in March (minus James, he's on tour!) made the trip. We had such a good time, as always. Even Charlie & Victor (the doggies) wore themselves out! Friday night we relaxed on our awesome deck and Kat cooked us a great dinner! Satuday went went in to Blue Ridge, GA and rode our bikes around their downtown area. After that, the girls did a little bit of hiking and the boys spent the rest of the day mountain biking. Saturday night was another great dinner and more time relaxing on our deck. We were in no hurry to get home on Sunday so the boys went out for another good mountain bike ride and us girls took a walk in the neighborhood our house was in. It was perfect weather and a great walk until me & Lyndsay decided to go a little further down the hill to the main gate. Only to then realize we had about a 1.5 mile walk totally up hill back to the house...yikes! Boy was my booty sore! Kat cooked a great brunch when the boys got back and we packed up and headed home.

On our way back home, we stopped in this community near Newnan, GA called Serenbe. It is quite possibly one of the coolest little places ever! Check out the link for details. We are going back on Sunday for their May Day celebration:)

We've got another busy weekend coming up. On the Tracks Friday night and a wedding shower in Birmingham Saturday night!

Toodles!

Pour Some Tweedy on Me...

Wilco was amazing!!! They played for a solid 2 hours and did some songs that they haven't played the last few times we've seen them. Sloss Furnace is such a cool venue to see a great band. We managed to get some sleep at Tony's and made it back this morning.

Now just got to make it through the day and pack tonight for the mountians!!

Happy Hump Day!

Still no confirmation on my 10k time from Saturday, so I think I'll just go ahead and declare the race a Personal Record:) Hooray for me!!!

Busy few days ahead for the Hakes! Tonight, we head up to Birmingham to see Wilco at Sloss Furnace. This will probably be the 10th Wilco show for Philip and the 5th or 6th for me. We're both pretty excited but Philip was on call last night and got NO sleep. I'm going to drive up there so he can take a little nap! We were going to drive back tonight but I think we've decided to spend the night & get up early (like 4am)! One of these days, we'll realize we're getting too old for these school night road trips!!!

This weekend we head up to Blue Ridge, GA to spend a weekend in the mountians. I'm pretty pumped about the trip!!! I haven't been to the mountians in a long, long time. I'll hopefully have some good pics to post next week.

Happy Hump Day!!

Can this be????

I don't have confirmation yet because I wouldn't let myself wear a running watch but I MIGHT have gotten a PR in the 10k I ran on Saturday. I know I finished somewhere between 56-57 minutes but don't know the exact time. Not exactly sure how I pulled off such a good time (for me) on a course that had about 100 hills?????

Also, Philip made it home on Saturday. Hooray, he didn't get stuck in Colorado:)

More on weekend events later!

Lunch w/Two of my favs (oh, and Jamie & Kimberly too!)

Had a great lunch date today with Luke & Vivian! We went to Moe's for Jamie's birthday lunch. I am so mad that I forgot my camera b/c Luke and Vivian were cracking me up!!! They just talked and talked to each other the whole time. Hilarious! Happy Early Birthday Jammers!

All alone...:(

It's just me & the pooch for a few days, so sad. Philip left last night after clinic to go to Boulder, CO to visit a company that makes some of their instrumentation. I talked to him this morning while he was waiting on his room service- well excuuuse me!- and he said they're supposed to get about 2 feet of snow in the next few days. Yikes! I don't think he took warm enough clothes! He should have a good time though and will be home late Saturday night.

Meanwhile, I'll be pretty busy while he's gone! I've got to get ready for my first race since the knee injury. I'm running a 10k Saturday:) It's a really hilly course so it will be a true test for the ole knee. Me & Lyndsay have been running a lot lately to get ready for this race. I've done 5 miles a handful of times so hopefully I can gut out that last 1.2 miles. Then we're all going to head up to Waverly for the Old 280 Boogie. I haven't ever been to this event but have heard it's a lot of fun. Friday night I think I'll tag along with everyone and go to the wine tasting at the Brass Brassiere then hit the sack early.

Hopefully I'll have some pictures to post later on this weekend!

Beach Post & a weekend at home!

So, the beach post...
We had a great time in Panama City last weekend w/friends. Although it rained most of the day Saturday, we still managed to have some fun! Lots of food, Wii, wine and laughing! Sunday was beautiful but a little windy but that didn't keep us from hanging out in the hot tub for most of the day. I think we finally made it home about 10:30 Sunday night.

This week we tried to keep it low key and rest! Philip wasn't feeling great at the beginning of the week. Wednesday night, we went to see Les Miserables at Opelika High School. Our friend Revel is the theater director there and did a GREAT job!!!

This weekend has been great and we've enjoyed being at home!
Friday night- wine tasting at Brass Brassiere, dinner at Cafe 123, night cap at Eighth & Rail!
Saturday- 5 mile run (hooray!! first time since October!) with Lyndsay, lunch & shopping with Lyndsay & her mom Pinky, Philip and Hiro went for a 4 hour mountain bike ride, low key dinner and in bed by 10pm!

Today has been a typical rainy day Sunday. We went to the coffee shop this morning before heading to the grocery store. Then we spent about 4 hours cleaning the house and organizing our guest bedroom closet. You can actually walk in our walk-in closet!!! Very exciting. Philip is now napping in his chair and I am sipping on some vino:) Tonight we are going to cook some Mexican and watch Role Models with Dennis. Toodles!

Seriously!!!

I just checked the weather, it's officially never going to stop raining. I am on the verge of slipping in to a weather induced depression!

I am going to post about our beach trip last weekend, but I just don't wanna....no post until I see some sunshine!!!!!!!!!!!
