RIley Caroline Hake

Riley made her debut on December 20, 2012.  We ended up having to evict her because she was in no hurry to come on her own and I didn't want to be in the hospital on Christmas.  We went in early on the morning of the 20th, started the necessary meds, waited around all day, saw little to no progress for about 6 hours then within an hour and a half had dilated from 4 to 9 cm.  The doctor and nurses started getting stuff ready for delivery around 8:30 and she was born at 9:00pm.  I had a very easy delivery and consider myself very, very lucky!  I have no complaints about delivery, other than being soooo hungry all day.  Ha ha.  Here are some pics from the last few weeks.

The Last Few Weeks

We spent the last few weeks as a family of two soaking up our time together and getting last minute stuff done.
39 weeks- 12/11/12
For obvious reasons, we didn't do a lot of Christmas shopping this year.  Luckily, I have a little Christmas elf that did it for me!
Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors Christmas show.  We love them!
Tried eggplant parmesan to get labor started.  Didn't work.

I finished up work on December 14th.  It was bittersweet since I have been a "working girl" for 10 years.
Martha's Trouble Christmas show.  They are some of our very good friends and we love watching them play.  This year, their two kids came up on stage and sand a few Christmas songs with them.  It was super cute!
 40 weeks- 12/18/12
Last dinner as a family of two.  We ate Outback because we heard they had a chicken dish that would send you in to labor.  Didn't work.
