Crazy Tuesday

Last night was so much fun! We got home from work at 5, changed, headed to the coffee shop for some food/drink and then were on our way to Atlanta to see the Old 97's. They're are band that Philip has been listening too for a while and has seen a few times before but not since we've known each other. They have been on my "list" of bands to see so when we realized they were going to be playing in Atlanta, we jumped on the chance to go.

I know some of you are probably thinking we are crazy for going to Atlanta on a Tuesday night just to see a band! But we used to make the weeknight drive ALL the time when we lived in Birmingham and never thought twice about it.

While it was late when we got home, it is a much easier drive to Atl from Auburn than it is from Birmingham and so worth it for a great show. We are "concert people" and hadn't been to one in a while so we were both getting antsy for a good show.

If we had a better camera, we would have taken pictures inside but they never turn out so we left the camera in the car. Needless so say, it was a great show and worth the drive (& sleep depravation)!

Some Paint on the Walls!

Cabinets!

Most of the cabinets are in today! I'm not going to know what to do with this much cabinet space...

They have also sanded the walls so I think that they will either be painting or staining the floors tomorrow (I hope!).

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

We went to a Braves game on Saturday night with our friends, Beth & Tyler. It was the first one I had been to in a while, so I was excited about going. We had a great day hanging out with B & T and so much fun at the game! The Braves played terrible but it was still fun.

Our massive plate of nachos that we ate at Stat. They were sooo good!!!
There's really just not much to say about this......

Another nice weekend at home! And a visit from Elmer!

We had another nice weekend at home! Friday night was the "Summer Celebration" in downtown Opelika. They blocked off Railroad Ave and had hot dogs, a DJ, pony rides, face painting, etc. We went down with Jamie, Joe & Luke to eat at Breezeway. Then we walked around for a little bit. Luke had a great time and loved the horses!

Saturday morning Philip got up and went for a ride and I drove to the coffee shop and ran around downtown from there. Then we had our weekely neighborhood Saturday morning at the coffee shop. We ended up staying there for a while, talking with Karen & Rick (the owners) and others that strolled in. That afternoon we hit up a neighborhood pool for a few hours of sun!

Saturday night as we were trying to make our plans we got a surprise phone call from Elmer! He was in town visiting his brother and wanted to go to dinner. We were so excited! Someone from home:) So we hit up Mellow Mushroom then took him down to the loft and "the rail." It was so good to see him, it had been way too long! (that goes for all our Bham peeps- we miss you!)

Sunday morning was the usual church & lunch. Then we decided to go to Montgomery for the afternoon and do some shopping and meet up with my parents for dinner. While it has been nice being home these past few weekends, I think we were both ready for a little road trip.

The best part of the day was getting to do my grocery shopping at Publix!!!! We are trying to do our part to "go green" and we only have Kroger canvas shopping bags, so we felt a little bad about taking them in to Publix. But really, I didn't care. I was at Publix. My life, at least for yesterday, was complete!

LOFT NEWS- This weekend they were sweeping and cleaning up all the scraps getting ready for the painters to come tomorrow. I stopped by today at lunch and they are finishing up the trim and taping plastic covering on the floors. So hopefully in a few days I will have some pictures with painted walls!

Congrats!

Just wanted to give a shout out to some new parents! Kea (BFF & former roomie) & Lee Calame welcomed a baby girl in to their family yesterday. Kylie Ann Calame was born around 9:45 am yesterday! Mom and baby are both doing well! Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures yet but hopefully I will get some soon. After reading my morning dose of people.com, it seems that Kylie will share a birthday with Matthew McConaughey's son and Nicole Kidman's daughter!
