Another nice weekend at home! And a visit from Elmer!

We had another nice weekend at home! Friday night was the "Summer Celebration" in downtown Opelika. They blocked off Railroad Ave and had hot dogs, a DJ, pony rides, face painting, etc. We went down with Jamie, Joe & Luke to eat at Breezeway. Then we walked around for a little bit. Luke had a great time and loved the horses!

Saturday morning Philip got up and went for a ride and I drove to the coffee shop and ran around downtown from there. Then we had our weekely neighborhood Saturday morning at the coffee shop. We ended up staying there for a while, talking with Karen & Rick (the owners) and others that strolled in. That afternoon we hit up a neighborhood pool for a few hours of sun!

Saturday night as we were trying to make our plans we got a surprise phone call from Elmer! He was in town visiting his brother and wanted to go to dinner. We were so excited! Someone from home:) So we hit up Mellow Mushroom then took him down to the loft and "the rail." It was so good to see him, it had been way too long! (that goes for all our Bham peeps- we miss you!)

Sunday morning was the usual church & lunch. Then we decided to go to Montgomery for the afternoon and do some shopping and meet up with my parents for dinner. While it has been nice being home these past few weekends, I think we were both ready for a little road trip.

The best part of the day was getting to do my grocery shopping at Publix!!!! We are trying to do our part to "go green" and we only have Kroger canvas shopping bags, so we felt a little bad about taking them in to Publix. But really, I didn't care. I was at Publix. My life, at least for yesterday, was complete!

LOFT NEWS- This weekend they were sweeping and cleaning up all the scraps getting ready for the painters to come tomorrow. I stopped by today at lunch and they are finishing up the trim and taping plastic covering on the floors. So hopefully in a few days I will have some pictures with painted walls!
